Holy crap; ignorant people...

I was playing a game and got into a discussion which a guy (used generically, could be a girl) turned into an argument over a color... Seriously?!? He got pissed! I was just chatting along... Then he's all "You're still talking?" and "You're an idiot." type stuff... Why to people get so stupid when it's just a simple discussion?!?

Ok, the discussion was simple. He said there was a 'Cyan' version of something. I had never seen one so I was like "Where?". I know of the craft-able blue ones, the black/blue ones and the light blue ones but not specifically a Cyan...

FYI for those (like this person obviously who don't understand), Cyan is one of two things. It is a very specific color (0,255,255) in a programming/image use scenario or a hue of blue that is equal parts green and totally void of red generally speaking.

The word Cyan is actually translated from a Greek word "κύανoς" or "kýanos" meaning "Dark Blue" of all things.

So then I was looking specifically for a 'Cyan' labeled item in the game. Couldn't find it. He started screaming 'Light Blue IS Cyan'... I said quite simply "Sorry, but no. There are thousands of shades of light blue that do not qualify as Cyan. That is like saying a car is a Ferrari. No, a Ferrari is a car, but not the other way around. Cyan can be a light blue. It can also be a VERY dark blue..."

Immediately after that started the insults and childish behavior. I simply said that I was trying to be accurate. and then the really dumb comments started. So I ignored yet another character: "Mursa".

Why are some people so stupid and ignorant when they are behind a keyboard?!? We were just having a discussion first and for-most... And you try to turn it into a pissing contest... Seriously?!? I never name-call or start crap like that in game. Why people do that when suddenly the conversation turns is beyond me.

Mursa; it doesn't matter who's right or wrong in a discussion. What matters is how you conduct yourself. I was simply having a discussion when you turned first argumentative and then even insulting. I do not make childish and stupid comments to put-down the other person. I don't need to. It doesn't matter if I was right or wrong (although, this time I was accurate), what does matter is I didn't drop to that level. I held composure even when the pure insults started flying at me.

I don't drop to that level... well, no biggie, that's what /ignore is for. Good bye.

Christmas-Core 2011 Winners!

$125 Grand Prize:
From Anandtech - Xtrem, Kent Chan
$50 Second Prise: From Jeepforum - Meep97, Bryant Barfield
$25 Third Prize: From CareCure - Jeramie630, Jeramie Triner

Anandtech snookered the win again. That's two in a row... Congratulations Anand and Crew as well as to our winners!

Jeepforum pulled in just behind, and CareCure (one of my personal favorites), with the fewest entries of all the forums, captures a victory!

The turnout was phenomenal... Better then I expected. Actually clogged my puny web-server the opening weekend... But I guess you give away cash, people come and see. Still it's for a great cause and these members all validate so congratulations to all.

Winners are paid via paypal through the email supplied during the contest. This is sent to paypal directly, not typed in by a person, to assure there are no typos... All winners should have received payment notification at this time.

No human had a choice in the winner. It is pulled by random program process. I, Christopher, am notified and makes sure the entries meet the necessary requirements and then makes the payments. This is the fairest method I could think of.

To those who don't "believe"...

I'm so SICK of the 'Holidays'... It's Thanksgiving, CHRISTMAS, and the New Year... The next person that gives me grief about 'Christmas' is going to get a bop in the nose...

It's a Religious Holiday... If you don't believe and just do it 'for the kids' you need to suck it up and still call it Christmas. We're NOT changing our holiday name cause you're too stubborn to have any faith and too stupid to let others have theirs...

Almost 90% of the entire planet is in some form, religious... The 2009 CIA report states non-religious 9.42% and atheists 2.04% of the world population...
So, these people come into OUR holiday... And then bark about the name... I can quite comfortably tell them to Shut the @#$% up!

Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ! It's not really his birth day but it is the celebration day...

In the 4th century, Christianity imported the Saturnalia pagan Roman festival to try to bring more pagans into the religion... But the festival was very bad mannered, with everything from drunkenness to sexual assault going unpunished. The plan was to name the last day, the 25th, to be Jesus' Birthday. Still the earliest Christmas holidays were celebrated in very non-christian-like manners.

Infact, in the 1600s, Christmas was banned by the Puritans and observing it was illegal in Massachusetts from 59-81. Plus, throughout the history, many evil acts were done on that holiday.

But why really the 25th when we know that's most likely NOT Jesus' birthday? It's the Winter Solstices... All of the pagan celebrations at that time... And the church just knew they weren't going to compete with all of that noise on the holiday, so might as well embrace it and try to convert them in the process. Christmas is the churches celebration of a pagan holiday time.

But present-day Santa Claus... Well, he didn't come to Christmas until 1823... In the poem A Visit from St. Nicholas by Clement C. Moore with the picture by Thomas Nast. The Real St. Nicholas, died ~ 350AD. He was the original gift-giver.Although this took place on December 6th... This was the 'Christmas gift-giving' day. Other places celebrated (some still do) in January...

And I'm really barely scratching the surface of all the different angles played on Christmas...

The point is: Christmas is, no matter how you look at it, a religious holiday.Various Pagan rites, Christian, etc... So celebrate it however you like; but if someone says 'Merry Christmas' and you stuff your nose up at them; don't be surprised if they break it off for you!

It's @#$%ing Christmas, no matter what you believe! Atheist, Satanist, Christian or Pegan; black, white, yellow, orange, purple or green; tall, skinny, smart or stupid... the holiday is still Christmas...

So Merry @#$%ing Christmas!

I just emailed 'Top Shot' on the History Channel

I've been thinking about this since the first season. But I finally did it... I know I probably have a million to one that anyone will actually read it but... There's zero chance if I don't send it... So I did it...
Here's the message:

This is the only email address I could find related to 'Top Shot'. I hope this reaches the right person though.

My name is Christopher Stiefel from Texas. Let me start with: "I love the show!". I've not missed an episode yet in three seasons...

But; I'm in a wheelchair. I can stand and walk a very little bit but I have Multiple Sclerosis which keeps me down most of the time. However, I still shoot and at the range, often see similar people. Heck I got my backside whipped 22-25 in a game of skeet with another chair-bound shooter.

While I'm always working to better my skills, obviously today's market and $ situations make it very difficult. However, I'll bet if you advertized it, you could find enough people to fill at least say a short-run show for the otherwise handicapped. We might not be able to run and climb like the athletes you have on the show but... It might be interesting, even if say it's a very short-run six to ten person competition instead of the normal big house full.

Events could be tailored for these individuals depending on what the field ends up consisting of... No running, perhaps some crawling (most of us can do that a bit, might even be better then some others cause our arm strength tends to be better on average), might need to see if people can be inverted without an issue (some conditions won't allow it or they have other issues.) But to sit or stand depending and shoot against someone else competitively, that's very do-able. Obviously some weapons wouldn't be necessarily do-able like the cannon would be too much.. Probably the gatling gun too (although I drooled all over my sleeve this season on that one), but like the sitting on the wagon and shooting, we can do that, pretty much all of the non-moving competitions (of which you have a huge dossier already) we could do, the round-about circle of death, depends on the people involved, but all of that could be considered at the time.

Obviously, it wouldn't be as physical, so maybe that's why it would only be a smaller show, perhaps with a much smaller purse (maybe $10k or even less, or maybe competing just for charity and a new chair or legs or something). I'd be curious if you put a feeler out there what types of bites you'd get... And honestly, unless my job position changes, I might even be willing to donate towards that purse a good chunk with no needed compensation for my $ other than to know that people are getting the chance... And it wouldn't have to be chair-bound people, just otherwise disabled people. There's plenty of one-legged shooters or one-armed shooters out there too. And these people can be so scarry-good at time.

I'd love to take part myself but I doubt very much I'd make it through the first few days. I'm a long-rifle and shotgun shooter only. Not very well-rounded. But I have shot bow, cross-bow, thrown knives and axes (of which I'm horrible), was a pitcher back in the day so I used to have one heck of an arm (but no more)... But in the end, I don't think I would be good for your show myself; Just not skilled enough to do well and you do want skilled individuals at least to make it a good competition. I also have a heck of a time with a pistol (though I could practice my tail off if the opportunity presented itself).

And it might not even be called 'Top Shot' per-say, maybe 'Another Shot - Sponsored by Top Shot' or something like that... Just to break up the class of shooters since very few, if any of us, could give a very skilled, fully-functional marksman a real competition. All things being equal, the disability itself will beat us in most cases, just the fact of life. Still, I know there has to be more then just me dreaming of being on something like this. And I know there are a ton of disabled shooters... Heck, even just here in central Texas, I probably know a dozen I see at the ranges. And I only go a few times a year (can't afford ammo) to shoot my National Match legal competition AR-15, old-school pump Remington 870 magnum 12 and junior 16, and my first-run Springfield XD9...

I love to shoot. I'm a life-time NRA member and support all gun rights. I'm ehh to so-so to not bad. Maybe a very good on my best long rifle... But... Something like this might go a long way for various medical foundations and/or you might even be able to get equipment manufacturers to get in on this for some advertising (I.E. there's only a handful of real good wheelchair manufacturer's for example...).

I'd be happy to talk with anyone interested and share my thoughts and ideas if they even think something like this is a do-able project. I'd be flattered if you actually chose me to be on the show, but I think you can find much better competition. Just having this being thought about by those in-charge would be satisfying for me.

My name: Christopher Stiefel
My email: chris@sirgcal.com or sirgcal@gmail.com
My website: http://www.sirgcal.com/
(rest of the information removed for privacy)

And again; I love the show! Safety first, always and without question! Thanks for a wonderful & enjoyable series!

You Can't Record the Race!

I love Nascar... No one's perfect... But some friends wounder why I don't just tape it and watch it later. I do have a DVR after-all...

Well, it's not that simple... Some times (a lot more often then I'd like) I do... But I miss so much by doing that...

The biggest and most obvious reason is that I'll know who won the race before I watch it... It's unavoidable... I've tried...

But other huge items are with the internet today... Things like the Nascar Pit View, the dozens of live in-car cameras and audio, Sprint Nascar app (which still needs a TON of tweaks, ESPECIALLY A NO SLEEP OPTION!!!), etc. I can get live feeds from a few dozen different reporting agencies and the in-car audio for the entire field... I can't record that...

So some races I try never to miss... Charlotte, Martinsville, Michigan, Dover, Daytona, Homestead, Talladega, Bristol and Phoenix to name a few that I really want to see live. Well, I WANT to see them all but... life and the wife won't always let me so, I have to pick and choose...

Netflix is dieing...

It used to be the nice combined option for so many people. An all-in-one shop... But now that it's breaking up it's services and inflating it's prices, it no longer is is a preferred option...

For the same price, people are Moving to Blockbuster for DVDs and Hulu+ for streaming content...

Let's review:

It's biggest competitors might be BlockBuster and Hulu Plus for the various parts of the service. However the catch is that each of these in their own area are better. The fact that Netflix had a combined option for cheaper was what made it tolerable.

Streaming:

Hulu offers 720P movies and TV with more providers than Netflix. As well as all that, it ALSO offers current TV series and shows and even some movies for streaming which Netflix does not. It's actually a really good DVR replacement actually save a few sporting events...

Netflix says HD, but honestly, to really send 1080p content like a blu-ray, you would need roughly 20M/sec connections... Even those of us who 'do' have such speed, more often then not do not... They re-compress it to roughly 1-5M/sec but in turn seriously lower the resulting quality. Basically, 720p is the best they could also offer with any reality. Honestly, from a frame by frame analysis I did myself, Hulu tends to look better in the end. This can also be largely attributed to the forced use of Microshaft's Silverlight that Netflix requires.

Hulu Plus also works on phones, tablets, computers, internet capable TVs, bluray players, TIVO's or other internet capable DVRs, even gaming consoles... Plus you can surf the content directly without having to put it in your queue from a computer first...

The obvious winner on all counts; Hulu Plus (Hulu+)

DVD/BluRay by mail

Blockbuster gets movies, often a month or more, before Netflix (soon to be Qwikster) can even offer them to their customers. And this is not going to change... Blockbuster is the same price for 3/month blu-ray included content so price is a wash on the most popular option (I didn't check others). Blockbuster also has GAMES, a huge advantage. Netflix said they were going to but, they've been saying that for YEARS...

With BlockBuster, if you have your movies in hand... Decide you want to see something else in a hurry, you can take them down to your corner store and exchange them live... Not an option with Netflix. At best, it's three days to a new movie. You put it in the mail before pickup, Netflix gets it tomorrow, ships out the next one and you get it the following day... With BlockBuster, you could have watched a dozen movies potentially in the same time, but have the same convenience of the mail, if you so choose...

So, BlockBuster, you get more movies, sooner then you do with Netflix for the same price... Plus games. Plus, even if Netflix does add games, will they do it right? We know BB knows how to do it, they've done it for years... Or will the game you want just be on the 'very long wait' list forever while the few copies they have are horded by the first to receive them. People keep games longer than movies...

The obvious winner on all counts; BlockBuster

Results:

Netflix may have just shot themselves in the head once too many times... They raised their prices, then raised them again, then again with a split for DVD/Streaming services... now moving the DVD services off all together...

They cost the same as their 'better competitors' but offer worse service on all counts... Infact, I can find no one who can give me one valid example of where Netflix is better then it's competitors... The best argument they have, weak-sauce as it is, is that Netflix has native Wii... I can Hulu+ to my Wii no problem. And ofcorse Hulu is working on their own native player as they have already done for the other consoles... But everything else already handles Hulu+... Without the Silverlight bloatware that Netflix uses... You have more control over the buffer in most cases and also better resulting image with fewer 're-adjusting your image for your lowered bandwidth' when you have a low spike in your connect...

If Netflix had staied the same... Even after their two price raises of the past... $24 for 3 disks + streaming... I would have stayed. But myself, and almost everyone I know who does one or the other or both, is moving to the better competitor now that they do not have the price benefit. Blockbuster & Hulu+ is now the same price as the lower quality services of Netflix and Qwikster.

And this is hard for me to do... I've always been pro-Netflix. Seeing them kill themselves has really made me sad. Then seeing them become this stupid and just make it worse and worse makes me wounder what the stockholders are smoking and where I can get some... Or why they are still in charge anyhow... They took a winning plan and killed it. They were putting Blockbuster out of business... Hulu+ was thought of as a little bit over-priced and 'exotic' option or for those trading instead the DVR for streaming all together... But now, Blockbuster and Hulu+ are the kings... Netflix is, at best, second best on all counts. And they wounder why their stock has dropped faster than if it was being sucked down by the gravity pull of a black hole...

Sorry Netflix... But you did this to yourself... You had everything to lose, and you lost it...

Kids today really need to consider the military before college...

Well, it's quite simple; there aren't enough jobs to go around. And those hiring 'right out of college' just aren't paying squat anymore... Plus, school is getting crazy expensive so why not at least serve four years and get school paid for free. Heck, I'm 36 and I'm STILL paying my student loans from when I graduated at 20... And I will be paying them well through my 40's. School cost more then my house... Or my cars put together... Let's look at the possibilities...You go like me, from High School directly to college and then get lucky and out for a job right away... OK, the whole time you're running up a huge debt strait away. This debt is so strict that even bankruptcy does not remove it (Nope, it doesn't effect student loans... Too many doctors tried that trick long ago...)

So no matter what, you have this huge debt hanging over your head. And any kid who thinks they're going to get a $100k+ job right out of school is either totally stupid and ignorant or just out of their mind. It doesn't happen. Maybe the best of the best of the best... and STILL the extremely lucky on top of that... But that's it. Heck, I'm an MTS in the field for over 20 years in a very high-paying area, and I still don't make $100k... Not even really all that close...

Plus, MOST college kids today are unemployed; or working at retail (McDonalds, Target, etc.) because there just isn't anything else available. Those thinking of going all the way for a teaching certificate; I also know dozens of college professors out of jobs right now. And the elementary through high school teachers don't get paid jack squat and are forced to teach only for those retarded tests... Not anything of real value. Private schools perhaps but... Still getting hired is extremely difficult.

So why the Military? Think about it... You get out of high school. Honestly, those are your most vulnerable, mistake-ridden years. Any adult will verify this looking back on their lives. Small or big, those are when the problems tend to happen. So go into somewhere that will help protect you from much of that and at the same time give you a good education, training and free medical care and... The list goes on...

Plus, there are lots of ways to do it. You can go in for just a few years and have the GI bill pay for your college education. Give them just a few years and they give you a lifetime's education... Plus covered medical the whole time, etc. You also get home buying assistance that no one else can get and other benefits from being in the military.

Or, stay in longer and retire... If I had gone career military, I'd be looking at retirement right now. That means I'd have lifetime medical coverage, free (which is STUPID expensive in the private world, by the way. So much so that I'm most likely going to die from something rather simple that the government program would have covered (they cover everything) that I won't have covered on my private insurance). Plus lifetime assistance with living, education and even job hunting after retirement. Plus, after you retire and get a private world job, you STILL Get the retirement money from the government while you work your new job... When you retire from that job, you'll get two checks... My father-in-law, who was a career military man, drill instructor, etc. makes almost what I do... And he's fully retired from both jobs now, sitting back and playing with the kids and grandkids. I'd love to look forward to that life but I won't be able to. All I'll have to look forward to is a fixed income from disability... Weee... But that's even a bonus to me because even putting in 15% of my checks, the 401k plans all dumped with the recent unpleasantness so I could barely buy a car with my retirement anymore... Live off it? Not a chance... Other people in my situation, but in better health, are screwed to work till they die... And @#$% if that isn't the worst life sentence there is... I want to enjoy my life after 60, see the world. Sit around and do nothing... etc. I don't want to be tied to a job FOREVER...

Holy crap! When I was a kid too, I didn't care about all that... "It's so far away, I have plenty of time to do what I want and deal with that then..." Like so many others, I was SOOOO wrong... You need to plan for your future, ideally when you're old enough to talk and walk... But realistically, in high school. You really need to think ahead. And that band, modeling job, winning the lotto isn't going to work out in 99.9% of cases... If you're lucky, you might have a band to enjoy playing the occasional gig now and then, or if you're really lucky, perhaps the band that does good locally... but... to really make it, especially today in the digital trading music industry, the $ just isn't there anymore... And models are a dime a dozen anymore... And who ever really wins the lotto... Seriously... (OK, my grandmother seems to be the lucky duck but... still not the big one...)

You have very few real world choices... Slack off and never get anywhere in life, life off the government (which in all likelihood will all be turned off soon. No more welfare, etc.) and have nothing in the end. Work hard and pray you save properly, or work hard and have someone else save for you (financial consultant) and hope THEY save properly (probably not). Or join the military and have someone doing the right thing for you, with the only guarantees there are in life. If you want a sure thing, the military is the ONLY solution...

"OK File, but I don't want to go to war..." That's what you're thinking right? Well come-on... Only the infantryman is on the front line. That's a very small percentage of the military. And yes, even those over there in bases (nurses, accountants, techs, etc.) could possibly be hurt by some sort of bombing... But they could just as easly (and honestly, far MORE likely) be killed driving down the road here too. $hit happens everywhere. If your time is up, you can't hide from it. It just doesn't work like that. Sure the infantry man puts his odds at a higher chance but not those on the base or back here in the states... The entire branch isn't over there. Not even most or half... But it is what is in the news right now so that's what people think about...

Plus then you have the other exciting options... My daughter, for example, likes the idea of NASA (Even though they are basically out of business without a shuttle-type program anymore...) or Remote Operated Vehicles... Both of which are huge in the Air Force... And neither of which would have her ever see anything front-like. The neighbor here is a nurse who served in Afghanistan twice now. They heard shells off in the distance a few times but that's it. She's looking forward for going back for a third tour. Sure the closer bases might see a bit more action but again, still FAR more likely to be hurt or die driving on any given road in the US...

Or the other excuse I hear all the time is "I don't know if I can do it"... Well that's the biggest pussy-excuse I've ever heard. Have some @#$%ing confidence in yourself or you won't do a damn bit of good ever to anyone in life... Plus, sure there are people who can't actually do it. But you won't really know that until you try now. And you just might surprise yourself... Plus, the military has backed off on their extreme physicality requirements since they have locked down access to only those with at least a high-school education and preferably some extra schooling. They don't take just anyone anymore. Sure you're going to have to get in shape and run a lot and do at least a good regiment of basic training... But that's only 8-10 weeks of your life, depending on the branch... You can suck it up and make it through 8-10 weeks... If you want a head start, start training in high school... Go for a sport. Basket-ball, foot-ball, track, anything that involves running a lot. Get yourself in shape a bit and basic will be a breeze... If your a fat slob like me, then ya, it's going to be harder. BUT, if I could walk (my MS is my problem), then even I could still pass basic training...

And at that age, I could have easily passed basic training. My MS didn't hit until I was 22.. AND, had I done that, the military would have been picking up all of my medical expenses instead of me now paying $50k+ out of pocket a shot because my crappy private insurance won't pick up the bill... Think about it. That's a killer new car... Loaded up Roush Mustang or Corvette even, once a year... How many of you could afford to do that? Me neither... That's why I can't get the treatment I need and I just get worse and worse... I've gone once... And it'll take me probably a decade to pay it off. I might not live to see another treatment... And I make really good money honestly. Especially considering the situation of the world and economy right now. I'd be considered upper-class in terms of money made... Most private citizens are middle, or lower-middle class... And yes, I do have some nice things... New TVs in every room. Every video game system (all of which suck by the way. They can't build a good video game system anymore... And PC gaming has gone so downhill due to consoles... Ugg... but that's another rant) made, three vehicles in the driveway and my own home. That's the American Dream right? Well, we're having trouble getting the 2.5 kids and that's something private medical doesn't cover... I can't afford my medical needs so that's even sooner that I'm going to bite the bullet (A few TVs and a car is nothing compared to one trip to the doctor's, plus we had most of that before this all started... so...).

And if you think you're going to rent forever, you're even more stupid. Friends that rent right now pay almost 3x what I do on my mortgage... For a crappy apartment with noisy neighbors... No control over any propery... Higher crime... Ya. That makes tons of sense to me... (rolls-eyes)

Or if you think "well I don't want to leave my girlfriend" or whatever right now... Don't be a total jackass... If she's (or he's) true to you, they will wait while you're in basic.. It's only a few weeks after all. And if you get shipped off somewhere, it's only a year at a time... Families all over the world do it all the time. If they aren't worth it to begin with, then they won't wait or will cheat. Unfortunately, this is all too true. Sticking around won't make them a better person. Just delays the inevitable... Trust me I know... They'll cheat eventually anyhow. Tell them to @#$% off and fine someone worth your love and affection. Might take a while but don't settle for that jackass or whore. They are NOT worth it. Do you're life first. The good people will understand and support you. Let the rest rot in hell.

Or... there's one more option... The reserves... It's a bit of both... You get a lot of the benefits of the military, with many of the restrictions, but more freedom also. Each branch I believe has one... Even the coast guard and national guard... So don't think the 'Army' is all there is to the military... There's even much more then the other three branches to boot. Kids, you really do owe it to yourself to at LEAST go to a recruiter and take a look at what each branch and other services have to offer... They are much better than going it alone... Even if you're successful alone, life finds some way to @#$% you over... Unless you're a Ruben that is... (another long story)...

It's just the internet man...

I am so sick of that stupid, lazy and childish excuse... People who do not capitalize our punctuate on the web... There is NO excuse...
Is your pinky busted? Keyboard? No, then you have no excuse what so ever...

Even typing on my HTC EVO 3D automatically capitalizes. I'M writing this now on my phone... And this sentence I spoke into it and it did everything itself. Using a real keyboard, there just is ZERO excuses other than you are too stupid to type.

This seems to be a big problem on forums. I own, admin and/or moderate quite a few and this is out of control. I will not even acknoledge most of those morons anymore. Even the five year old next door knows how to capitalize the first word in a sentence and use a period.

So either you have a serious equipment malfunction or you are dumber than an average five year oldand you should keep your dumb ass off of the, obviously too complicated for you, internet...

Even the five year old does not 2 to use that totally asinine excuse. All you are doing is proving to the world publicly how stupid you are...

Kids & Cars

I don't see how any kids can drive today. It's just too damn expensive...We considered replacing Kat's Subaru Legacy with something newer basically as a commuter only vehicle (so I don't have to fit in it per-say). But trade-ins as we all know are next to nothing for real values of the vehicle. So I pondered the idea of giving it to my daughter Amanda...

But then I started thinking and did some research; For her to get insurance on this car, it would cost her roughly two grand a year just for the minimums. Plus fuel and maintenance...

Costs per month:

Insurance: ~$150

Tags: ~$5-10

Fuel for 4 tanks of gas: ~$240

Maintenance: ~$150 (we spend roughly two grand on it for basic maintenance and repairs a year)

Assuming that's it (never is), that would be ~$550 a month, just to own the car assuming we gave it to her free and clear... When I started driving, insurance was still high and tags were the same but I could run my car for $60 a month easily in fuel and I did all my own maintenance. Even with minimum wage almost twice what it was, there's still just no way she could afford this (and do anything else). I don't see how kids do it today when considering paying for school and what not. Accept the kids that go into one of the branches of service which greatly help their costs (living, education, travel, etc. all paid for).
